FishTankPrivacy policy and disclosures
The short version: this site doesn't ask for your personal information, doesn't use accounts, and doesn't sell anything about you.
Information this site collects
Fish Tank Helper has no sign-ups, comments or forms. The calculators run entirely in your browser, and nothing you type into them is sent anywhere.
Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages visited. These are used for security and to keep the site running, and are not used to identify you.
Affiliate links and cookies
Fish Tank Helper is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases.
When you click a link to Amazon or another retailer, that retailer may set cookies in your browser so it can credit the referral. Those cookies are controlled by the retailer and covered by its own privacy policy. Buying through these links doesn't cost you anything extra.
Purchases
The Your First Aquarium guide is sold and delivered through Gumroad. Gumroad handles your payment and email address under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details so we can help with your purchase, and we never sell or share them.
Analytics and advertising
This site doesn't currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated first to explain what's used and how to opt out.
Links to other websites
We link to other sites we think are useful. We're not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Children
This site is meant for a general audience and doesn't knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Advice disclaimer
The calculators and guides give general hobby advice and rules of thumb, not veterinary advice. Results are estimates. Always follow the label on any medication or water treatment.
